I had been feeling sick to my stomach for about a week, but was not sure if it was the morning sickness coming back. I also had cramping in my stomach that got worse and worse every day. (I later found out that was liver pain) It was underneath my right rib cage. It got to the point that I could not sleep and the only time it did not hurt was when I was walking. My doctors said it was probably normal pregnacy pains, but when I told them I would take serious pain medication and it still did not kill the pain, they told me to go to the ER.
When I went to Labor and delivery I was still not showing any other obvious symptoms. They did not even realize I was in real trouble till they ask for a urine sample. As soon as they saw how dark my urine was, they would not let me walk and moved me into a delivery room. They did blood work and although I do not remember that exact numbers the lab results were really bad. They told me I needed to give birth right away. It was decided that they would try to induce me and as long as I remained stable they wanted me to have a natural delivery. I was pumped full of magnesium and was not able to have any pain medications. The room was dark and I was not allowed to get out of the bed for the entire delivery and 24 hours after. It was not a very pleasant experience. But I did give birth to a very healthy 33 week and 1 day old 3 pound baby girl. She stayed in the NICU for 3 weeks and luckily she does not have any lasting effects as far as we know. I now am currently still on blood pressure medication and also some psy medication to help me with the PPD and anxiety."
