I've learned that people are good. That they want to help. That they wish they could take away your pain, but since they can't, they mourn with you.
I've also learned that some people are mean; that a stranger will hack your sister's blog so you are no longer able to read it. That a stranger will question your motives for doing something and accuse you of using your sister's death to "make a profit."
I've learned that darkness always fights against light, but that light is always there if you keep searching.
I've learned that what it means to "choose to be happy", and that it really is a choice. and that sometimes it isn't an easy one. I've learned that it's okay to be okay. It's okay to laugh. It's okay to live. It's okay to remember all of the good things and all of the silly things. It's okay to be angry and sad for moments, that these moments come and go, but they are not forever.
I hope that you've learned things from this website. I hope that you continue to learn and share and help raise awareness about HELLP Syndrome.
Today is Leila's birthday. And even though she's gone, I'm still celebrating because she lived, and she still lives. I'm choosing to be happy today and I'm asking you to do the same.
I've launched a limited edition tee in honor of her birthday and her motto. We have a goal to sell at least 30 of these shirts. 50% of the proceeds will go to the Preeclampsia Foundation to aid in HELLP Syndrome research. The remaining 50% of proceeds will go to this site to keep it up and running so women who have suffered from HELLP Syndrome can continue to share their stories. Pre-order now by clicking here! You only have 11 days to order this shirt! Then pin it, share it, like it, and tweet it! THANK YOU for your continued support and stories! Keep raising awareness!
